James Lee Releases the Worlds Fastest Radiance Benchmark

Radiance Radiance 3.8,REV=2006.12.15 Now Available

Radiance is a highly accurate ray-tracing software system for UNIX computers that is licensed at no cost to users for non-commercial use; commercial use licenses including distribution rights are available for a fee. Radiance was developed with primary support from the U.S. Department Of Energy and additional support from the Swiss Federal Government. It is copyrighted by the Regents of the University of California.

Working over a four week period James Lee and Dennis Clarke ran test after test and build after build with Studio 11 on Solaris 10 until we were able to post the fastest benchmark on the planet :

3051.4 secs with radiance 3.8 benchmark on Solaris 10 x86


If you have fast AMD Opteron hardware ( and all AMD Opterons are FAST ! ) then please install Solaris 10 x86 and run the benchmark with our software. You will be amazed at how Studio 11 can make software optimal and blazing fast. Nothing crunches numbers like Solaris 10 on AMD Opteron!
